Updated Military Memo(s)
Religious Accommodation Requests Requiring a Waiver to U.S. Military Immunization Policies
The memo to support religious exemption from COVID vaccine has now been updated, and a second supporting memo has been added.
The first and original memo no longer refers to COVID vaccines specifically, but is more general, and as a result, is meant to cover any future vaccine mandate or even existing regular immunization requirements. References to Norwegian Public Health Agency records has been removed, and two U.S. court references added. In addition to mRNA and Adenovirus vaccines, a provision has been added for treatments made with fetal tissues. Hormonal and performance enhancing treatments have also been added. Finally, a section referring to courts in the U.S. upholding religious rights to exemptions has been added, with an implied possibility of litigation and penalties for commands that do not issue exemptions. Email of signing officer has also been updated (previous email is no longer valid). The cultural and historical rationale, already very sound, has not been modified.
The second memo refers to vaccines and medical treatment using aborted fetal parts and animal parts, a court ruling accusing the U.S. military of acting in bad faith when it comes to vaccine exemptions, and an incident where troops were “accidentally” administered a COVID vaccine without consent. It uses these elements as foundation for a new policy requiring all vaccines to be individually approved by organization, and for all vaccines to be administered at facilities approved by Chief Medical Officer.
