In today’s society, most boys are not trained to fight. This distant relationship with violence has significant societal consequences.
Some of you may remember one of Jordan Peterson’s publicized interviews where he stated that all male to male interactions are underpinned by the threat of violence. Effectively what he meant is that men are generally cordial to one another lest they get punched in the face. To this day, if you google the quote you can find viral threads on Reddit with thousands of male feminists hyperventilating over Peterson’s comments. Why did this seemingly obvious statement strike such a chord with these men? We’ll come back to that in a second.
